How the Statue of Liberty Opened My Eyes

This past weekend was Memorial Day weekend, a weekend most people in America associate with drinking booze, chilling by the pool, huge shopping deals, BBQing and fireworks.... But we must remember why we have that Monday off. Memorial Day is a day on which those who died in active military service are remembered. This is also a time to thank those who are still alive who have served or are still serving. Instead of going down the shore and having to deal with large amounts of people in small and crammed spaces, my boyfriend and I thought Monday would be a nice day to go visit Liberty State Park. Located in Jersey City NJ, Liberty State Park is a park in the U.S. state of New Jersey, located

A Message To My Old Best Friend

As we all learn on this crazy ride called life, people in our lives come and go. Some people stay around longer than others. Some people come into our lives as a blessing and others come into our lives as a lesson. Some people we don't even realize have gone missing from our lives, while other people's absence in your life leaves you feeling like a part of you is missing to. One of the hardest experiences that I have had to go through in my life is growing apart from people who I once called my best friend. It was especially hard seeing myself grow apart from best friends that I didn't want to grow apart from. But it wasn't my choice. I was the one who tried to make it work. I was the one wh

Rebecca's Travels: Capri, Italy

Out of all the places I have visited, Capri has by far been one of my favorite places in the world to visit. Capri, an island in Italy’s Bay of Naples, is well known for its natural beauty, and its upscale shops and hotels. Most clothing shops in Capri are designer, and Capri is known for it's amazing limoncello. They also sell amazing handmade leather products. For this day trip to Capri, my parents and I stayed in a hotel in Sorrento, and then took a ferry to Capri the next morning and then came back to Sorrento on the ferry. The reason we did not stay over on the island was because it was very expensive, especially due to the time period in which we were in Italy. It was a very popular va

Do Not Let the Number on Your Jeans Define You

I've been in the modeling industry for about 2-3 years. And these 2-3 years have NOT been easy. At the start of my career, I was extremely blessed with amazing opportunities by people in the fashion industry that took a liking to my look. Within a few months of trying to get into the modeling industry, I was on billboards, online advertisements and store posters. I was so happy and so confident in myself, I couldn't understand why people were telling me that the industry wasn't nice and that I needed to make sure I had thick skin before I got more into my career. I would soon learn why those things were told to me. About six months into my career, I was introduced to one of the top teen clot

Summer Ideas in New Jersey

Being a born and raised NJ girl, I love my state. We are one of the few states that have so many different things so close to one another. We have so many things, in fact, that sometimes us NJ folk don't even know its there! Since the summer is coming back super fast, I thought I would make a list for my readers with suggestions of things to do in NJ this summer. The list of ideas are in no particular order. 1) Enjoy The Beaches! NJ resides right along the Atlantic Ocean, so there are many beautiful beaches you can check out. I am going to list you the beaches I have been to, and I am going to break them down into different categories so you can choose which one may be best for you. Day Trip

Lomachenko Vs. Linares Fight Night

May 12, 2018. What a night to remember. To some people, it may have been a normal Saturday night, but to boxing enthusiasts, it was definitely one of the best fights of the year, with Vasyl Lomachenko becoming the fastest man to claim three world championships in different weight classes with a stunning 10th-round TKO victory over WBA lightweight champion Jorge Linares. As some of my readers know, I am a huge boxing fan. I got into boxing a couple years back, when I was looking for a new workout to get into, and had been suggested a boxing club in the local area. Right away, I am became hooked on the sport and about a year later, I started sparring. Now I am training for my first fight. Thro

My First World Premiere Experience

March 1,2018. A night I will never forget. In 2015, I decided to audition for a part in the film, "Abnormal Attraction." I was told I was too young for the role, but they liked my look and wanted me as a non speaking role. Just one scene. In the background. I WAS SO EXCITED! This was my first time ever being in a film, and I was so thankful for the opportunity. I called my friends and family and told them how excited I was for the opportunity. I stayed on set until 3am filming this scene and then had to drive 2 hours back home that same night. The Fuzz Team and I stayed in touch through Facebook and other forms of social media, where I saw their updates on the film I was in as well as the ot

The Perks of Being With Someone Who Makes You Genuinely Happy

You guys may be reading the title and think, "That's silly, why would you be with someone if you aren't happy" The truth is, some people believe they are happy in a relationship, because they are so blinded by love and they are so used to being treated a certain way, that they think it is normal, even when it isn't. When you do find an amazing relationship, you will realize the TRUE benefits of being with someone who GENUINELY makes you HAPPY. This is something I have learned the past 6-7 months. 1. They ALWAYS Have Your Back They will be there for you during your best and worst times in your life. When you win an award or get a good grade, they will be the first ones you want to tell, becau

Signs that Show He/She May Not be the Best For You

Sometimes, our friends, OR EVEN US, are blinded by what we think is love. Many people may eed to figure out on their own that their significant other is not the perfect match for them. I have made a list of points that someone can think through, and if they see that their significant other meets the criteria of these signs, then maybe they will reconsider staying with that toxic boyfriend or girlfriend. 1. They are EXTREMELY hypocritical. I put hypocrisy as one of the first signs because I feel like it is one of the things that people tend to put on the back burner. People see it just as a "small flaw" and really don't understand how it can negatively affect them in the long wrong. It usuall

Be Thankful for the Negatives in Life

Even though Thanksgiving is over, that doesn't mean we should stop remembering what we are thankful for! Now before I go on, I want to warn you this list is a little different than you would expect for a "What I am Thankful For" list, but heat me out on this one: 1. The Challenges Challenges at the time can be stressful, but no matter how big or small they are, we must remember to be thankful for them. Challenges are what help build character, and help us grow into the humans we are meant to be. Challenges are there to prove to yourself that you can overcome anything, and that life will go on. 2. Disappointments We have all been disappointed as well. But, we can not let our disappointments i

A Message to all Women

In society, women are expected to look like the supermodels we see on the cover of magazines. We are told to "not cake our face up with makeup" but when seen with no makeup, we are questioned on our hygiene, asked the question, "Are you sick?" or "Are you tired?" As a professional model, I would like to tell you all... don't buy into the BS the entertainment industry tries to sell to you. Models are no different than anyone else. Photoshoots consist of hours of hair and makeup and retouching in between shots. Sometimes, we (The models) get to look at the unedited shots in between changes. When we finally get to see our published work, sometimes we have to take a double take, just to make su

A Piece of Advice to all the "Popular" and "Unpopular" Kids

As I am turning 20 in a couple months, I’ve begun to reflect a lot on my life. Mainly on who I was and who I am today. Today, I am someone that I can say I am truly proud of, but to get here, I had to go through a lot in my teenage years. If I had the ability to go back in time and talk to my middle school self, I’d give this one sentence of advice: “Stop worrying about trying to fit in with the cool kids, none of this will matter in a few years, trust me.” I’ve always known I was different, and not different in a way that I thought I was better than anybody else, but I just knew that my mindset was different from the rest of the kids I grew up with. In the small New Jersey town I grew up in

Simple Cliche Advice That Actually Works

1. Drink water: Staying hydrated is so important, for your physical and mental state. It helps reduce dizziness, and increases focus. 2. Go outside: GET SOME FRESH AIR. Even if you aren't a "tree hugger" stepping outside and inhaling "fresh air" is good for your health. Fresh air is really important when you are feeling stressed, anxious, depressed, etc. Also, it helps if you have been inside all day. Being inside all day can make you go loopy, and even get you sick! 3. Take a shower: Don't think of taking a shower as just a daily chore... Use that time in the shower to relax and think. Giving yourself a break to "wash away your worries" can sometimes be the cure. 4. Stretch: You don'

I Will Never Be Sorry for Who I Am

I remember when I used to want EVERYONE to like me as a person. Whenever I felt someone didn't like me, I would sit in my room and be sick to my stomach. I couldn't help but think "What can I do to make them like me?" "What can I change about myself?" But over the years I realized something, NOT EVERYONE IS GOING TO LIKE YOU. People are not going to agree with your beliefs, or they are going to be mad at you, or they are going to be jealous of you, but at the end of the day, WHO CARES?! They aren't feeding you, they aren't putting a roof over your head. I've learned to love who I am, and to never even THINK about changing who I am to receive the approval of someone else. I am done apologizin

To the Person Who Worries too Much.

I know if you are reading this, you are worrying about a lot. From the minute you go to bed to the minute you wake up, you're worrying about SOMETHING. But let me tell you that EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE OK. It's okay that you don't have abs. Are you healthy? Are you happy? Go on that 2 mile run and eat that large cheesy pizza afterwards to reward yourself if you want to. Stop letting society make you feel a certain way about how you should look. It is okay is some people don't like you. Don't change who you are to make others accept you. I wrote about this in a previous blog post as well, so if you want a more in depth explanation, check it out! SAY NO. Don't worry yourself and make yoursel

Simple but Effective Ways to Practice SELF CARE

Our society has screwed up tremendously when it comes to putting the right things as top priority. One of those things being SELF CARE. Self Care doesn't have to be just about buying yourself luxurious items or going on expensive trips.... sometimes, the littlest things mean the most. 1. Make time for YOU Just like you schedule or at least try to schedule the chores and errands you have to do for the day, schedule out of every day some time to do things that relieve your stress or anxiety. Try new things till you find something that works for you! 2.Play with a pet It doesn't matter whether you are a dog, cat or even a hamster person! Grab a furry friend and have fun! Pets love getting love

Stop Wishing Your Days Away

Remember when we were in 4th grade and wanted to be in 8th grade so bad? And once freshman year of high school came, you just wanted to go to senior prom and graduate already? All of us have been guilty of acting like this at some point in our life, and don’t try to argue with me on this one. Even though school seemed to go by so slowly while you were in elementary and middle school, time really does fly by and you really don’t realize it until reality hits and it’s too late. If I could back to elementary school days, I would. No types of drama except the once in a blue moon, “Who took the snack from my Lunchables?” No bills to worry about, no worrying about the future… just worrying about l

How to Procrastinate Wisely

Procrastinating is not, and will it ever be, the best option. But, we are all guilty of it. It is human nature to want to put off things we don’t want to do.. Like that fifteen page research paper. BUT if you ARE going to procrastinate, here are some ways you can make that time procrastinating useful. 1. Clean When I procrastinate, I love cleaning and organizing things. Specifically, I love fixing up my room. Pick things up off the floor, fold or put away laundry, organize your makeup, clean your dirty clothes, vacuum. When you are done completing your tasks, you have made your living area more appealing to your standards and could perhaps give you a more positive vibe that can motivate you
